How do I send you artwork?

What resolution should the files be?

For most images, use a resolution of 100-150 PPI, and for banners, 75-100 PPI is sufficient.

What should I do about the text on my file?

Anything else I should know about saving the PDF file?

If creating your PDF directly from Illustrator, preserve editing capabilities and set any compression to maximum quality. Ensure that trim and bleed are properly defined in Illustrator.

What if I want you to print something big? Like, really big.

If the final print needs to be larger, create the document in a proportionate size (e.g., 50% scale for a 240” x 180” graphic would be 120” x 90”).

Please include a soft (PDF proof files) copy of the files, any embedded raster or vector linked files, and fonts.

My graphic designer just sent me a list of questions with a bunch of acronyms and numbers. What do I tell them?

  • Color Mode: Ensure your color mode is set to CMYK.
  • Sizing: Please build your page layout to the file size, avoiding designs that are significantly smaller or larger than the final output size.
  • Photos: Use high-resolution files at the final output size, preferably at 150-300 dpi.
  • Colors: Embed all PMS or CMYK builds into your file. For Rich Black, please use C40M30Y20K100.
  • Bleed: Add 1/4” bleed to each side of your design. Bleed refers to an extra amount of image or background color that extends beyond the trim area of your printing piece.
  • Margin: Keep all content at least 1/2” inside the trim line.

  • Save: Save your native file in formats such as .AI, .INDD, or .PSD.
  • Package: Package your file to ensure that all necessary elements are included for proper printing. Please make sure all options are checked.
  • Save Again: Save a PDF of your file and include it in your Packaged Artwork folder. Please avoid including printer marks in the PDF.
  • Compress: Compress your final packaged artwork folder in .ZIP format.
